Kyle TOWRISS – Drunk Driving

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 11, 2015 at approximately 10:52 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Wellington Road 39 near Wellington Road 30 in Guelph-Eramosa Township. Officers investigated the driver of a 2005 Ford that entered into the checkpoint. Officers detected the odour of alcohol on his breath and believed that his ability to operate a motor vehicle maybe impaired by the consumption of alcohol. The driver completed Standard Field Sobriety tests (SFST) at the scene which were done poorly. The driver was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

33-year-old Kyle TOWRISS of Wellington North Township has been charged with Impaired and Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 7, 2015 to answer to his charges.
