Kory Bertrand – 146 in a 70, Drunk Driving

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) -On November 23, 2013 at approximately 1:53 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers observed a 1999 Volkswagon travelling southbound on Gordon Road in Guelph-Eramosa Twp at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was locked on radar at 146 km/h in a 70 km/h zone. Police spoke with the male driver and discovered that he had been drinking. The driver was administered a Roadside Screening Device which resulted in a fail.

Kory Bertrand age 21 of Mississauga has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada as well as Racing contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on December 10, 2013 to answer to the charges.

The driver received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of seven days.
