On Thursday January 02, 2014 at approximately 2:07am, emergency services responded to Vista Cres, Kitchener for a kitchen fire. On arrival all residents were located and accounted for on the front lawn. Kitchener Fire Department located the fire in the kitchen and the fire was extinguished quickly before having a chance to spread. Fire investigators have confirmed that the fire was initiated on the stove, however, the cause of the fire has not been determined at this time and is being investigated by the Fire Marshall’s Office. One resident sustained minor injuries as a result of the fire and was transported to the St. Mary’s Hospital for precautionary reasons.
