Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of the 21 March 2016, to the 28 March 2016, there were 85 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were fifteen motor vehicle collisions, four were animal related.

There were two domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 21 March 2016, to the 28 March 2016. There was one domestic related incident involving criminal code charges.

Assault and Mischief Charges

On the 26 March 2016 at approximately 7:08 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Claude Chartrand and Constable Jeff Cole attended a residence in Madawaska Valley Twp. regarding an assault call. As a result of police investigation, 53 yr. old Carole-Anne McCRAE of Madawaska Valley Twp. has been charged with 2 counts of Assault, section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada, and Mischief section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.

Disturbance Leads to Charges

On the 26 March 2016 at approximately 10:08 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Kyle Fabian and Constable Jeff Cole attended a residence in Madawaska Valley Twp. regarding a report of a domestic disturbance. As a result of police investigation, a 38 yr. old male has been charged with 2 counts of Assault, section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada, Mischief section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada and Utter Threats section 264.1 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held pending a bail hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Traffic Stop Charges

On the 21 March 2016 at approximately 7:36 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jason Golds conducted a traffic stop on Highway # 41, Bonnechere Valley Twp. The 33 yr. old male driver from Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. has been charged with Suspended Drive, section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act and Drive Motor Vehicle no Currently Validated Permit, section 7(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a summons to appear in court.

Distracted Driving, Cell Phone Charge

On the 28 March 2016 at approximately 1:20 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Miller conducted a traffic stop in Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Twp. The 23 yr. old female driver from Petawawa was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle on a Highway While Using a Handheld Wireless Communication Device, section 78.1(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a provincial offence act notice. If convicted, the driver could face a fine of $490 and three demerit points.
