Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of the 19 September 2016, to the 25 September 2016, there were 89 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were eleven motor vehicle collisions, five were animal related.

There were five domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 19 September 2016, to the 25 September 2016. There were no domestic related incidents involving criminal code charges.

Collisions

On the 22 September, 2016 at approximately 3:13 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale and Constable Ryan Szczygiel responded to a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Schutt Road, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. The driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle lost control and veered off into the ditch. The driver was taken to hospital by Renfrew County Ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed. This incident remains under investigation.

On the 23 September 2016 at approximately 6:34 p.m., Whitney OPP Constable Mike Holbrook responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway # 60 in Algonquin Park. A van had lost control and veered off into the ditch. The driver was charged with Careless Driving, section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was towed. There were no reported injuries.

Suspended Driving Charge

On the 23 September 2016 at approximately 1:02 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Brandon Cassibo was conducting moving radar on Highway # 60 in South Algonquin Twp., and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The male driver, 25 yr. old Yufeng, LAI of Oakville was subsequently charged with Drive Motor Vehicle While Suspended, section 53(1) and Speeding section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was issued a provincial offence act summons to attend court, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.
