Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of the 26 September 2016, to the 2 October 2016, there were 88 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were nine motor vehicle collisions, four were animal related.

There was one domestic dispute call for service during the week of the 26 September 2016, to the 2 October 2016. There were no domestic related incidents involving criminal code charges.

Collisions

On the 30 September 2016 at approximately 12:02 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Szczygiel received a call of a motor vehicle collision involving a school bus and a vehicle on Highway # 60 in Algonquin Provincial Park. Subsequent to police investigation, 62 yr. old Steven WARD of Barrie was charged with Pass Roadway Not Clear, Overtaking Traffic, Section 148(8) (b) of the Highway Traffic Act. There were no reported injuries, and no tow required. The accused was issued a provincial offence act notice.

On the 01 October 2016 at approximately 1:54 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jeff Turnbull and Constable Jeff Cole received a call of a single motor vehicle collision rollover on Corrigan Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. There were no reported injuries. A Chevy Colorado was towed from the scene. This incident remains under investigation.

On the 02 October 2016 at approximately 12:09 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch received a call of a single motor vehicle collision on Scotch Bush Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. The female driver of a Dodge pickup truck lost control and veered off into the ditch. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed. This incident remains under investigation.

Break and Enter

On the 02 October 2016 at approximately 12:02 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale received a call of a break and enter at a residence on Sand Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. Stolen were numerous firearms, electronics, jewellery, and money. The Identification Unit attended the residence to photograph and collect evidence from the scene. This incident remains under investigation.

Mischief

On the 28 September 2016 at approximately 1:53 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Neil Gonzalez received a call of mischief on Mitchell Road, Madawaska Valley Twp. A dump truck had been taken for a joyride, and a sand sifter smashed. This incident remains under investigation.
