Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of the 14 November 2016, to the 20 November 2016, there were 80 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were twenty –one motor vehicle collisions, seven were animal related. Several of the collisions were as a result of road and weather conditions.

There was one domestic dispute call for service during the week of the 14 November 2016, to the 20 November 2016. There were no domestic related incidents involving criminal code charges.

Collisions

On the 19 November 2016 at approximately 9:27 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale received a call of a single motor vehicle collision on Opeongo Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A Nissan Pathfinder had lost control, rolled into the ditch and had temporarily trapped the driver inside. The Bonnechere Valley Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated the female driver from the vehicle. The driver was transported to hospital by Renfrew County Ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed. No charges were laid.

. Break and Enter

On the 20 November 2016 at approximately 1:48 p.m. Killaloe OPP Constable Barry Nisbet received a break and enter call for service on Highway # 60, Madawaska Valley Twp. A garage door had been damaged, and entry gained. Stolen, were tires and a carburetor. The Scenes of Crimes Officer attended to collect evidence. This incident remains under investigation.

Impaired Driving Charges

On the 14 November 2016 at approximately 2:15 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Devin Leeworthy conducted a traffic stop on Highway # 60, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. As a result of police investigation, 48 yr. old John COULTER of Ottawa has been charged with Over 80, section 253(1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear, with a court date, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The vehicle was towed and the licence suspended.
