During the week of the 23 January 2017, to the 29 January 2017, there were 79 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were fourteen motor vehicle collisions, eight were animal related.
There were four domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 23 January 2017, to the 29 January 2017. There was one domestic related incident involving criminal code charges.
Domestic Dispute Charges
On the 26 January 2017 at approximately 2:04 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Barry Nisbet and Constable Mike Recoskie received a domestic dispute call for service on Ottawa Street, South Algonquin Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 28 yr. old male from South Algonquin Twp. has been charged with Break and Enter, section 348(1)(a), and Trespass By Night, section 177 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held for a bail hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Utter Threats Charge and Breach of Probation Charges
On the 25 January 2017 at approximately 7:50 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Mike Recoskie and Constable Barry Nisbet received a family dispute call for service on Zliney Street, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 23 yr. old Kendal DUPUIS of Madawaska Valley Twp. has been charged with Utter Threats, section 264.1(1)(a) and Fail to Comply with Probation Order, section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held for a bail hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.
Impaired Driving Charges
On the 23 January 2017 at approximately 4:19 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre received a single motor vehicle collision call for service on Tramore Road, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. As a result of police investigation, 34 yr. old Jeff SPARROW, of North Algona Wilberforce Twp. was charged with Care and Control Over 80, section 253(1)(b) and Impaired Driving section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The licence was suspended and the vehicle towed. There were no reported injuries.
Traffic Stop Leads to Charges
On the 27 January 2017 at approximately 3:13 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jordan Bullis conducted a traffic stop on Highway #60, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. The 62 yr. old driver from North Algona Wilberforce Twp. was issued a three day alcohol drivers licence suspension, and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The driver was issued a summons to appear in court. The vehicle was towed.
