Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of the 30 January 2017, to the 5 February 2017, there were 104 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were seventeen motor vehicle collisions, six were animal related.

There were no domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 30 January 2017, to the 5 February 2017.

Utter Threats, Assault Peace Officer, Resist Arrest Charges

On the 30 January 2017, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale received a threats call for service on Wilno Street, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 30 yr. old Cleve GEDDES of Killaloe Hagarty and Richards Twp. has been charged with Uttering Threats, section 264.1(1)(a) x 3 , Assault Peace Officer, section 270(1)(a), and Resist Arrest, section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.

Break And Enter

On the 4 February 2017, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jon Anderson received a break and enter call for service on River Street, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. An unlocked garage had been entered and an electric heater and power cord were stolen. This incident remains under investigation.

Charges Under the Public Lands Act

On the 2 February 2017 at approximately 12:01 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Brandon Cassibo received a provincial statutes call for service on Lower Rosenthal Road, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. Numerous bags of garbage had been discarded and left in a ditch. As a result of police investigation, a 30 yr. old male from Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. has been charged with Unlawfully Cause Litter To Be Deposited, section 27(1)(a) of the Public Lands Act, and Litter Highway, section 180 of the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offence Act Notice.

Collisions

On the 1 February 2017 at approximately 8:00 a.m., OPP Constable Peter Spital received a two vehicle motor vehicle collision call for service on Highway #41 and Highway #60 North Algona Wilberforce Twp. The 38 yr. old female driver from Laurentian Valley Twp. was charged with Start From Stopped Position Not in Safety, section 142 of the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offence Act Notice. There were no reported injuries.

On the 5 February 2017 at approximately 7:49 pm., Killaloe OPP Constable Brandon Cassibo received a single vehicle motor vehicle collision call for service on Combermere Road, Madawaska Valley Twp. The 52 yr. old female driver received minor injuries. The vehicle was towed. No charges laid.

On the 2 February 2017 at approximately 12: 53 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale received a single vehicle collision call for service on Highway # 60, Madawaska Valley Twp. The 19 yr. old male driver from Whitewater Region was charged with G1 Licence Holder, Drive at Unlawful Hour, and G1 Licence Holder, Drive While Unoccupied by Qualified Driver, Highway Traffic Act. Ontario Regulations, 340/94. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offence Act Notice. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed.
