Killaloe OPP Weekly Press Release

During the week of April 3, 2017, to April 9, 2017 there were 120 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were 17 motor vehicle collisions, eight were animal related. There were 19 traffic hazard, downed wire, and dangerous conditions calls for service, attributed to the road and weather conditions.

There were four domestic dispute calls for service, and no domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.

Collisions

On Thursday April 6, 2017 at approximately 3: 07 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Szczygiel received a single vehicle collision call for service involving a school bus on Highway 60, Madawaska Valley Twp. Adverse weather conditions contributed to the bus striking the guardrails. There was one child on the bus, and no injuries reported. The school bus was towed, and no charges laid.

On Thursday April 6, 2017 at approximately 10:58pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Jordan Bullis received a single vehicle roll over collision call for service on Highway 41, Bonnechere Valley Twp. The highway was temporarily shut down while the vehicle was removed and towed. No injuries and no charges laid.

On Sunday April 9, 2017, at approximately 1:33 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale received a single vehicle collision call for service involving an ATV on King Street, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. The 52 yr. old male ATV operator from Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. was transported to hospital by Renfrew County Ambulance with minor injuries. No charges laid.

Stolen Vehicle

On Wednesday April 5, 2017, at approximately 12:39 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale received a stolen vehicle call for service on Bell Street, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A grey 2006 Suzuki Boulevard motorcycle, with an Ontario licence plate 8D8X7 was stolen sometime overnight. This investigation is continuing.

Break and Enter

On Saturday April 8, 2017 at approximately 4:02 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre received a break and enter call for service on Radar Crescent, Bonnechere Valley Twp. The door was pried open leading into a storage facility. The OPP Scenes of Crime Officer attended to process the scene for evidence. No items were reported stolen. This investigation is continuing.
