During the week of November 27, 2017, to December 3, 2017 there were 79 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were seven motor vehicle collisions, two were animal related.
There were two domestic dispute calls for service, and no domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.
Breach and Drug Charges:
On Saturday December 2, 2017 at approximately 10:23pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Kyle Fabian and Constable Jon Anderson conducted a traffic stop for speeding on Highway 60, North Algona Wilberforce Township. The driver was found to be in breach of recognizance conditions by failing to abide by court imposed conditions. Subsequent officer investigation revealed a quantity of suspected cannabis marihuana located in the vehicle. As a result, 26 yr. old Yasin IBRAHIM of Ottawa has been charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2, contrary to the Criminal Code, and Possession of a Controlled Substance For the Purpose of Trafficking -Under 3 kg contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Passenger, 18 yr. old Yousuf ABDILLAHI of Kanata has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Under 3 kg. Both males were released on a Promise to Appear, with a court date of Wednesday February 14, 2017 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The vehicle was towed.
Collision
On Thursday November 30, 2017 at approximately 3:08 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Szczygiel responded to a single vehicle collision roll over on Highway 60, Madawaska Valley Township. The lone occupant of the pickup truck received minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was towed. No charges laid.
