Killaloe OPP Weekly Press Release

During the week of March 13, 2017, to March 19, 2017, there were 82 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were thirteen motor vehicle collisions, seven were animal related.

There were three domestic dispute calls for service during the week of March 13, 2017, to March 19, 2017. There were two domestic related incidents involving criminal code charges.

Assault / Mischief Charges

On March 17, 2017 at approximately 12:28 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre and Sgt. Dillon Gerundin received a domestic call for service in Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 60 yr. old male from Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. has been charged with Assault, section 266, and Mischief Under $5000, section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on an Undertaking with Conditions, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Assault / Choking Charges

On March 17, 2017, at approximately 10:39 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Jordan Bullis and Constable Andrew Wierzbicki received a domestic dispute call for service in Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 73 yr. old male from Madawaska Valley Twp. has been charged with Assault, section 266, and Overcome Resistance by Choking, section 246(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with Conditions, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Impaired Driving Charges

On March 19, 2017 at approximately 6:31 am. Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale and Constable Ryan Lapierre received a motor vehicle collision call for service on Highway 28, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. As a result of police investigation, 27 yr. old Brody GREGG of Addington Highlands Twp., has been charged with Impaired Care and Control Over 80, section 253(1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The vehicle was towed and the licence suspended.

Collision

On March 15, 2017, at approximately 3: 38 pm Killaloe OPP Constable Devin Leeworthy received a single vehicle collision call for service on Simpson Pit Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. A vehicle had slid off of the roadway, and struck guard rails. Minor injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed. No charges laid.
