During the week of March 20, 2017, to March 26, 2017 there were 95 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were sixteen motor vehicle collisions, six were animal related.
There were five domestic dispute calls for service, and one domestic dispute resulting in criminal code charges.
Domestic Mischief Charge
On Friday March 24, 2017 at approximately 12: 52 pm members of the Killaloe OPP were dispatched to a domestic dispute call for service in Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, a 51 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. has been charged with Domestic Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held for a bail hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Assault / Breach of Recognizance Charges
On Wednesday March 22, 2017, at approximately 7: 50 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Szczygiel was dispatched to an assault call for service on Stafford Street, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation , 29 yr. old Shawn PYNE of Madawaska Valley Twp. was charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm, and Breach of Recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was held for a bail hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.
Stunt Driving Charge
On Tuesday March 21, 2017 at approximately 5:14 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Brandon Cassibo was conducting moving radar on Highway 41, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and locked in on moving radar at 138 kilometres per hour in a posted 80 kilometre per hour zone. As a result of police investigation a 26 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. has been charged with Operate Vehicle While Performing a Stunt, contrary the Highway Traffic Act. The licence was suspended and the vehicle towed.
