(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On October 15, 2014 at approximately 11:11 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) stopped a 2003 Toyota that was being operated in an erratic manner on Victoria Road near Woodlawn Road in the City of Guelph.
Police spoke with the driver and determined he had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was administered which resulted in a fail.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as per statute.
Further investigation revealed that the driver was disqualified from driving according to the Criminal Code of Canada and his driver’s licence was also suspended.
Khalid YOUSIFIE age 43 from the City of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 mgs, Impaired Driving and Driving While Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada as well as Driving While Under Suspension and Novice Driver B.A.C. Above Zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on October 28, 2014 to answer to the charges.
