(GRAVENHURST, ON) – On Tuesday June 21, 2016 at 9:45 a.m., a Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on First Street in Gravenhurst to investigate a highway traffic act offense and after making contact with the driver, it became apparent that alcohol was an issue.
The investigation revealed that the driver was already before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden to answer to an Impaired Driving related Charge stemming from an incident in March. Police have arrested and charged 56 year-old Kevin HEIKKINEN of Calgary, AB, with Over 80 CC 253(1)(b) along with a variety of Highway Traffic Act Offenses.
The accused was held for bail and will next appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 12, 2016. Further the accused received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and had his vehicle towed and impounded.
