(Prince Edward County, ON)â€â€On September 12, 2013 at 4:31pm an officer with the Ontario Provincial Policeâ€â€Prince Edward County detachment stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation on Elk St., Picton. Check of the male driver revealed that he not only was a suspended driver but had been consuming alcohol.
51-year old Kenneth SCANLON, of Kingston, ON is charged with the following offences:
Operation With Over 80 mgs. of Alcohol, contrary to Section 253(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Drive While Under Suspension, contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. (x4)
Drive Motor Vehicle With Liquor Readily Available, contrary to Section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act.
Insecure Load, contrary to Section 111(2) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused was later released from police custody on a promise to appear in court on October 16, 2013 in Picton, ON.
