(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On April 14, 2017 at approximately 9:30 p.m. the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a silver Ford Mustang on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph.
Investigations revealed that the driver of the vehicle was suspended for Escalating Novice Sanctions and was operating his motor vehicle without insurance.
20-year-old Kenneth Dalton EDWARDS of Guelph has been charged with Driving While Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 17, 2017 to answer to the charges. A seven-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
Drivers are reminded that fines for Suspended Drivers start at $1,000 and fines for owners caught Operating a Vehicle without Insurance on a Highway start at $5,000.
