Kemptville Weekly Report

(Prescott, ON.) –Members of the Prescott Detachment of the Grenville County O.P.P. responded to a total of 110 calls for service from January 4th to January 11th, 2016 inclusive. Included in the 110 for calls for service were 35 in the Town of Prescott, 29 in Augusta Township, 27 in the Township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal, 8 on the 416 and 11 on the 401Highway.

January 10, 2016

Augusta Township

On the 10th of January 2016 just after 6:30 pm the Grenville County OPP received a 911 call of a single motor vehicle collision on the corner of Charleville Road and the Fourth Concession in Augusta Township. Upon arrival police noted a grey Ford pickup, super crew cab on its side in the northeast ditch. It was learned 3 people had been in the vehicle and all were reporting no injuries. A 44 year old female from Augusta Township advised she was the driver of the vehicle. When speaking with the driver police detected an odour of alcohol coming from her breath. The driver failed the roadside test and was arrested for Over 80 and taken to the Prescott Detachment where she provided samples of her breath and subsequently charged with Impaired Driving and Operate Motor Vehicle Over 80. She is to appear in Brockville Court at a later date.

Assault

January 9, 2016

Town of Prescott

On January 9th, 2016 just before 4:00 pm police were advised of an assault that had taken place on Churchill Rd. in Town of Prescott. The victim had left the scene and the attacker was being detained by a witness. Investigation revealed the victim; a 16 year old male was walking on Churchill Road when he crossed paths with a male unknown to him. The victim was asked to hold an item, when victim refused the attacker assaulted him. The assault was witnessed by a male who attended the area and held the male until police arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital to have his injuries tended to. A 24 year old male from Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township was arrested and charged with assault. He is to appear in court at a later date.
