Kemptville Weekly Report

(Kemptville, ON.) – Between July 6th and July 12th, the Kemptville Office of North Grenville Ontario Provincial Police investigated 90 general occurrences: 25 Kemptville, 38 Municipality of North Grenville, 14 Village of Merrickville – Wolford and 13 on Highway 416.

On July 10th, while on general patrol police stopped to assist a broken down vehicle on Highway 416, North Grenville. The officer detected a smell of marijuana and observed a marijuana cigarette on the floor of the vehicle. The male and female occupants were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle revealed the following:

Schedule II Cannabis marihuana under 3kgs – approximate street value $650.00

Schedule I Cocaine (6g ) – approximate street value of $300.00

Schedule I methylenedioxyamphetamine known as Ecstasy (1080 pills) – approximate street value $15,000.00

Schedule I methylenedioxyamphetamine known as Speed (7) – approximate street value $35.00

Paul Ross, age 59 and Krystine Desautels, age 27 of Temiscamimg, Quebec are charged with possession of a marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methylenedioxyamphetamine known as Ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of an amphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. Paul Ross was also charged with failing to comply with a Probation Order. The co-accused are being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
