(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) –A male driver is facing numerous charges after he was discovered driving a stolen vehicle.
On January 1, 2015 at approximately 8:35 a.m. Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nations Police was patrolling the area of Iroquois Road and Hazel Road when the officer observed a suspicious vehicle that rolled through a stop sign. Police followed and attempted to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle failed to stop for police. Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nations Police with the assistance of Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) followed the suspect vehicle through a number of roads. The vehicle continued to drive erratically and nearly collided with police vehicles. The vehicle eventually stopped at a residence on Oneida Road.
The driver attempted to flee. On attempt to apprehend the driver, he resisted arrest and attempted to fight officers. Police successfully handcuffed and arrested the driver.
Further investigation revealed the involved vehicle was stolen from London, ON. As a result of the investigation, police have charged the male driver, Kelly DOXTATOR, age 28 of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation with:
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Flight while Pursued by Peace Officer
Resist Peace Officer
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Driving while Disqualified – court order x 2
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
The accused was held for a bail hearing January 2, 2015 and was later released under a Recognizance of Bail. He is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom January 13, 2015 to speak to the charges.
