(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – On September 11, 2016, at approximately 1:53 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Elginfield Road.
Officers conducted a traffic stop of the grey Ford pickup truck near New Ontario Road, and it was determined that the 22-year-old female had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered, and the driver registered a “fail.” She was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath testing.
As a result of the police investigation, Katherina WALCH, from Perth South Township, Ontario, has been charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on October 20, 2016.
