(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 16, 2016 at approximately 3:00 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officer was patrolling Highway 7 near Wellington Road 44, Guelph-Eramosa Township. The officer observed a 2007 Mazda travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 136 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
21-year-old Karlin CURRIE of Brampton has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on November 16, 2016. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
