(HALLOWELL, ON) – On May 5th, 2017 at approximately 11:54 PM, Prince Edward County OPP (OPP) observed a white Honda Civic travelling southbound on County Road 49 at a high rate of speed in poor weather conditions. Officers eventually caught up to the vehicle and observed the vehicle weaving from side to side. OPP conducted a vehicle stop and determined that the driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol prior to driving. As a result of the investigation, the male driver was arrested. 29 Year old Kane SCHULTZ of Picton ON has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol and Driving with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 mL of Blood. His vehicle was towed.
He was later released on a Promise to Appear. The male is scheduled for court at The Provincial Court of Justice, 62 King Street, Picton ON May 24th, 2017.
