K9 Unit Locates Missing Male

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) – Today at approximately 10:00 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an abandoned vehicle on Queens Street in Puslinch Township. The investigation revealed that the registered owner of the vehicle was missing from the City of Hamilton and was possibly in medical distress. The Hamilton Police Service was contacted and OPP were advised that the man was last seen at his residence at 4:00 a.m.

The male, Steven SCHMIDT was described as 63 years old, six feet tall, 200 pounds, blue eyes, short grey hair, wearing brown camouflage pants, grey jacket and white running shoes.

Uniform officers along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Canine Unit searched the Village of Morriston and the surrounding area. The male was located at approximately 2:20 p.m. by the Canine Unit and ERT officers. He was disoriented by otherwise in good health
