(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male motorist with impaired driving as a result of a traffic complaint early Friday morning.
On the 3rd of October 2014 shortly after 3:00am, officers were advised of a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver east bound on Mountain Road. Police located the vehicle on Mountain Road near Cambridge Street where the vehicle failed to stop for a red light at the intersection.
Police then attempted to stop the vehicle with emergency lights activated as it continued onto First Street, again failing to stop for a red light at the intersection of High Street, where police were able to stop the vehicle. Interactions with the male driver found that he was under the influence of alcohol where he was arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 23 year-old Justin LOGUE of The Blue Mountains, he is facing a Criminal Code charge of driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol, he is to appear in Collingwood court on the 28th of October 2014.
He was also charged with Highway Traffic Act offences of : two counts of Red light – fail to stop, Class G1 license holder – blood alcohol concentration above zero, Class G1 license holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver and Novice driver – fail to surrender license.
