(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 20, 2015 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers investigated the occupants of 2009 Ford Escape that was travelling on Wellington Road 18 near Gerrie Road in Centre Wellington Township.
Police immediately detected the strong odour of fresh burnt marihuana inside the vehicle and observed open containers of liquor in the possession of the two passengers. All of the occupants were placed under arrest and the motor vehicle was searched. Police seized a quantity of marihuana, cocaine and ecstacy along with drug paraphernalia.
The driver claimed exclusive possession of all the drugs.
Justin COOMBS age 21 of Fergus has been charged with Possession of Ecstacy , Possession of Marihuana and Possession of Cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on April 22, 2015 to answer to the charges.
Both male passengers were charged with Possession of Open Liquor in a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
