(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Officers of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a motorist with a drinking and driving offence as a result of a RIDE spot check in Collingwood.
On May 18 2016 at approximately 11:30pm, officers were conducting a RIDE spot check in the Town of Collingwood when they interacted with a driver that was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was subsequently subjected to a roadside breath test resulting in a ‘fail’ reading which led to the arrest of the motorist who was transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 23 year-old Julia BEAULIEU of Collingwood, she is facing a charge of driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on June 7 2016.
