(CALEDON, ON) – On Tuesday, July 5, 2016 an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a Fail to Remain, motor vehicle collision, located near Valleywood Blvd. and Royal Valley Drive. Following the collision the suspect vehicle continued to a nearby address. Officers attended the address and observed the suspect vehicle, a red Toyota Corolla in the driveway.
Upon investigation, the officer determined that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by the consumption of alcohol and arrested the operator or the Toyota accordingly.
As a result, Joy Jennifer MURRAY, 62, from Caledon was charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Highway Traffic Act:
Adult Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood
Adult Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle (Alcohol)
Adult Fail to Remain
The 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and her motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to make her first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on July 21, 2016
