Joshua COMMANDANT – 136 in an 80

(GEORGIAN BAY TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday August 25, 2015 at 2:40 p.m. officers from the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle travelling at 136km/h in the 80km/h construction zone on Highway 400 in Georgian Bay Township.

A further investigation by the officers revealed that the male driver was in possession of unmarked cigarettes. As a result, several boxes of unmarked cigarettes were seized by police. The male driver had his licence suspended for 7 days and his 2007 Jeep impounded.

Joshua COMMANDANT (age 37) of Bala, ON has been charged with:

· Fail To Surrender Insurance

· Speeding

· Stunt Driving

· Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes for the Purpose of Sale

· Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Penetanguishene on October 1, 2015 for the driving offences and November 19, 2015 for the Tobacco Act offences.
