(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male in relation to a theft from vehicle incident in Collingwood.
On Saturday the 5th of September 2015 at approximately 10:30pm, OPP officers were dispatched to a suspicious male observed on Telfer Street. The witness was reporting a male was trying to enter vehicles on Telfer Street and when confronted by the witness, the suspect fled on foot and police were called.
A short time later, an officer on patrols investigated a male walking in the area of Poplar Sideroad and Saunders Road and interactions with the male found that he was in possession of property related to the theft from vehicle complaint. He was arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 24 year-old Joseph KARPOWICZ of Collingwood, he is facing charges of theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. He is to appear in Collingwood court on the 13th of October 2015.
