(HURON EAST, ON) – A 26 year old male driver is facing charges of Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Speeding after he was stopped on October 10, 2014. Shortly after 3:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers spotted a GMC Sierra pickup truck travelling westbound on Huron Road (Highway 8) over the speed limit. Officers confirmed the vehicle’s speed with a RADAR device and measured the speed at 113 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. Officers turned around and stopped the pickup truck on East William Street in Seaforth.
Upon speaking with the driver officers noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was arrested and transported to the Huron County OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both tests were over the legal limit.
As a result, 26 year old Joseph FLANAGAN from Central Huron been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on November 10, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
