(Bancroft, ON) â In the early afternoon on January 31, 2017 officers of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers on general patrol, attempted to stop a vehicle, as the passenger was observed and known to be breaching bail conditions.
The vehicle evaded police, the suspect then attempted to flee on foot but was stopped a short distance away and placed under arrest. As a result of the arrest, the male was searched and cocaine was found on his person. Total street Value of $350.
As per the investigation, 43 year old Joseph Duane PARKS of South Algonquin Township has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – cocaine, Obstruct Peace Officer and four (4) counts of Fail to comply with recognizance.
The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on February 01, 2017.
