(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 32 year old male from Windsor is facing drug possession and breach of probation charges following a disturbance that took place at the Grand Bend Motorplex located on Grand Bend Line. Just before 3:00 a.m. on August 3, 2013 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the Motorplex for a reported assault occurrence. On site security personnel detained two males that were involved in a physical altercation. Upon further investigation, the male combatants were searched by police and a quantity of suspected marihuana was seized from one of the combatants. It was also determined he was currently serving a probation sentence with a condition to abstain from the possession of drugs.
As a result, 32 year old Jose LEON from Windsor has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis Marihuana contrary to section 4(1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Breach of Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) Criminal Code. He has a court appearance scheduled for August 12, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
