(Bluewater, ON) On October 9, 2010 at approximately 4:30 am, Huron OPP officers stopped a vehicle in Hensall containing 8 occupants. Upon speaking to the driver, the officers observed a beer bottle beside the driver’s seat and could also detect the odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath. The officer read the demand for the driver to provide a roadside sample of her breath and she complied, but failed the test. The driver was then arrested and taken to the Huron OPP Detachment where she met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of her breath. The results confirmed that the driver was operating the packed vehicle with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Jordan BRINTNELL (18) of South Huron has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. She will answer to her charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on November 15, 2010.
