(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On October 17, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol duties in the Town of Blind River
Shortly after 7:30 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle on Causley Street, travelling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initiated.
As a result, Jonathon BARNES, 34 years of age from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, was charged with: Drive Motor Vehicle While Performing Stunt – +50 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The driver’s licence was seized. His vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on December 7, 2016.
