Joint Police Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Hanover Man For Sex Crimes Involving Children

On January 27th, 2014 members of the Hanover Police Service and the West Grey police Service commenced a joint criminal investigation into sexual offences against children involving multiple victims.

On March 20th, 2014, members of the investigative team arrested a suspect identified as Darrin Ditoro, age 45 of the Town of Hanover. He was charged with numerous historical sexual offences against children. Ditoro was held for a bail hearing and was later released from custody on a recognizance of
bail with conditions. He is scheduled to return to Walkerton court to answer to the charges later this month.

The suspect, Darrin Ditoro faces the following adult criminal charges:
1. Sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age – 7 counts
2. Sexual assault – 3 counts
3. Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age – 3 counts
4. Sexual exploitation – l count
5. Invitation to sexual touching with a person under 16 years of age – 1 count

The investigators believe other people may have information that may assist them with this investigation. Anyone with information on this investigation is encouraged to call the Hanover police Service or the West Grey Police Service.
