(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) – On April 18, 2017, at approximately 10:30 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call about an assault which had taken place the day before at 148 Main St. North Rockwood.
Investigation revealed that between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. April 17, 2017, two men, known to each other, became involved in a verbal and physical altercation. As the altercation escalated the accused left and returned with a weapon, threatening to harm the victim.
53-year-old John NICHOLSON of Rockwood has been charged with Assault with a Weapon contrary to the Criminal Code. He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear June 16, 2017 in Guelph Criminal Court to answer to the charge.
