(ROSENEATH, ON) –On January 17, 2015 at 11:15pm a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling on County Road 45 in Alnwick-Haldimand Township. The officer observed a northbound Ford Ranger and conducted a check of the licence plate. As a result of this query, the pickup truck was stopped and the driver interviewed.
The officer noted that the driver smelled of alcohol and demanded a roadside test which resulted in a ‘fail’. The driver was arrested and taken to the Campbellford OPP detachment for further tests.
As a result of these tests, John HARDY age 28 of Percy Township is charged with Care & Control Over 80mgs. He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on February 18, 2015.
