Joel ECHLIN – Break, Enter And Theft

(LEEDS, ON.) – Members of the Leeds County Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into a break and enter at a retail establishment in Elgin. One Male has been arrested, while a second male involved is still outstanding.

On the 17th of January 2016 at about 10:30 pm Ontario Provincial Police officers were notified of an occurrence at Kenney’s Plumbing on Main Street in Elgin. Police investigation revealed that thieves had forced open a rear door at the business and removed several items including a boat motor, a generator, a welder, a pressure tank, a cash register, a chain saw, a drill, and a sawsall.

Joel ECHLIN, a 28 year old from Lanark County has been arrested and charged with Break, Enter and Theft over $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He will be answering to his charges at the Ontario Court of Justice – Brockville.

The second suspect who is still outstanding is described as a shorter male, stocky, dark coat, dark pants, lighter coloured gloves, and a dark toque.

They were operating a Green 4 door Buick car at the time of the offence.

Members of the Leeds County Crime Unit are continuing with this investigation.
