(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On September 28, 2016 at approximately 6:00pm, a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting general patrol in the Township of McDougall. A traffic stop was conducted, and the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Jody BUSHEY, 38 years of age from McDougall Township was arrested and charged with:
Driving with more than 80mgs. of alcohol in blood contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)
Novice Driver – B.A.C. above zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on October 20, 2016 to answer to his charges. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days.
The OPP are reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
