(CALEDON, ON) – On Tuesday, May 10, 2016 an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar enforcement on Mayfield Road at Bramalea Road when he observed a white 2011 Mazda travelling at a high rate of speed above the posted speed limit. The officer activated the radar unit and determined the speed of the vehicle to be 116 km/hr. in a posted 60 km/hr. Community Safety Zone.
As a result of the traffic stop, Jodian FOSTER, 30, of Ajax has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle. The driver received a 7-day licence suspension and her motor vehicle was seized for a period of 7 days as a result of the stunt driving charge.
The driver is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Caledon on May 30, 2016 to answer to the charge.
The Ministry of Transportation states that “fines are doubled in Community Safety Zones, near schools and public areas. These areas are clearly marked with signs.” Members of the Caledon Detachment of the OPP would like to remind motorists that speeding, following too closely, making unsafe land changes and failing to yield right-of-way are all forms of aggressive driving that place all road users at risk. Please drive safely.
