(TECUMSEH, ON)— The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a motorist reporting an erratic driver on Riverside Drive East in Tecumseh on November 28, 2015 at approximately 5:50 a.m.
Officers responded and located the vehicle in question and spoke to the driver who was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
She exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
Joanne WALTHERS, age 53 of Windsor, was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Refuse to Provide Breath Sample, as well as Fail to Comply with Undertaking (from a previous criminal charge). She will appear in a Windsor court on December 11, 2015 to answer to the charges.
The OPP would like to sincerely thank the citizens of Essex County for their ongoing efforts to assist police agencies in stopping drunk drivers. Police rely on the public to alert officers of suspected impaired drivers now, during the holiday season, and throughout the year.
