(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) On Thursday August 15, 2013, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a residence on Amberley Beach Rd south of Point Clark (mainly a seasonal cottage area). The homeowner reported theft of Jewelry from the residence.
Investigation revealed that shortly before the noon hour the homeowner was in the backyard of the residence doing yard work. The rear door of the residence had been left open and views from the yard to the home where obstructed by outbuildings and shrubs. An unknown person entered the home and removed jewelry from a bedroom.
A couple of white gold ladies cluster rings and necklace chains were taken
The Huron County OPP is requesting anyone who may have observed suspicious vehicles or persons on Amberley Beach Road around the time of the theft to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Residents are urged to lock their homes even when leaving for only a short period of time or while working in the yard.
