(CALEDON, ON) – On December 31, 2013 at approximately 4 pm, an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol in the area of Porterfield Road. The officer observed a blue Pontiac Sunfire travelling north on Porterfield Road approaching County Road 109. The officer conducted a licence plate check and learned that the motor vehicle had been reported stolen to Orangeville Police Service. Subsequently, the officer activated the cruiser’s emergency equipment and intercepted the motor vehicle as it entered a residential neighbourhood in Orangeville.
The officer arrested the lone occupant for Possession of Stolen Property and upon confirming his identity, the officer learned that the male was prohibited from driving and was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to not occupy the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.
As a result of the traffic stop, Jessy Wayne OAKLEY, 23, of Durham was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Drive while Disqualified and Breach of Probation.
The male was held in custody and made an appearance at the Brampton Court of Justice on January 1, 2014.
