Jessica SIMARD & Kyle LEPAGE – Firearms

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – On December 3, 2015 at approximately 9:20 a.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Government Road in the Town of Kapuskasing, which led to two persons being arrested and charged with a firearms related offence.

Police seized firearms and ammunition from the motor vehicle and later obtained a search warrant and located more firearms and ammunition at a residence on Du Parc Avenue in Val Rita, Ontario.

Jessica SIMARD, 19, and Kyle LEPAGE, 21, both of Val Rita, Ontario were arrested and charged with the offence of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearms contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

The accused persons were released and will attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kapuskasing on February 29, 2016 to answer to the charge.
