(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On May 23, 2016 at approximately 9:05 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Highway 6 near Side Road 15, Centre Wellington Township and observed a man driving a 2003 Acura well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 131 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
21-year-old Jesse STEIN of Stoney Creek has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on July 6, 2016.
