Jeremy MUXLOW Arrested For Personating Police Officer

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a Wallaceburg resident with Personating a Peace Officer following a recent investigation.

In early May, Huron OPP members were notified by a member of the public that had concerns about a person that was seen operating a sport utility vehicle that resembled a police vehicle.

A few weeks later on June 4, 2020 a Huron County OPP officer was conducting RADAR patrols on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway (Highway 21) when a sport utility vehicle closely resembling a police vehicle passed by the officer. The officer gave a wave to what he thought was a fellow colleague however upon further investigation the officer became suspicious of the vehicle as no other officers were known to be in the immediate area. A traffic stop was conducted shortly thereafter and the officer spoke with the driver. The accused was dressed in clothing that resembled a tactical officer, additionally, several items were observed inside the vehicle that are commonly used in policing.

As a result of the investigation the driver was arrested and taken into custody. Jeremy MUXLOW, 33 years of age, from Wallaceburg has been charged with Personating a Peace Officer. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for August 17, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
