(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On February 3, 2016 at 9:45 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle with licence plates that didn’t match the vehicle description exit a parking lot on Miller Street in Parry Sound. The officer conducted a traffic stop and an investigation proved the driver was also suspended and did not have proper insurance.
The driver, Jeremy ATKINS, 38 years of age from Parry Sound, was arrested and charged with:
Driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) x2
Permit use of plate not authorized for vehicle contrary to the HTA
Fail to surrender insurance card contrary to the Compulsory Automotive Insurance Act (CAIA).
The vehicle operated by the accused was towed and impounded for seven (7) days.
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 3, 2016 to answer to his charges.
