(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 41-year-old female with drinking and driving following an investigation into a traffic complaint that resulted in a motor vehicle collision on Highway 6, Hagersville, Haldimand County, Ontario.
On Wednesday November 9, 2016, at approximately 4:35 p.m., OPP responded to Highway 6 for a traffic complaint where it was reported that a vehicle was travelling southbound on Highway 6 when it crossed the centre line and struck the side of another vehicle that was travelling northbound on Highway 6. The southbound vehicle continued on.
OPP located the vehicle on Highway 6 near First Line.
OPP investigated, and while speaking with the female driver, signs of impairment by alcohol were detected. OPP arrested the female at the scene.
OPP has charged 41-year-old Jenny JEWELL of Hagersville, Ontario with:
Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol
Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with open alcohol
Fail to Remain at the scene of a collision
She is to appear in Provincial Court in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
