(HURON TWP, ON) – On January 1st, 2011 at 2:01 am, the South Bruce OPP received a call to an address along Maple Street in Huron Township for an unwanted person. A male guest had too much to drink and started to pick fights with other guests at the New Year’s Eve party. 3 people were assaulted before the male left the house on foot.
South Bruce OPP officers searched the area with the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit. The male was located a short distance away and arrested. 23 year old Jeffery STEWART of Saugeen Township has been charged with 1 count of assault and 2 counts of assault with a weapon. STEWART has been held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for January 4th, 2011.
